I was born in Wilmington, Delaware sometime in the winter of 1943. My younger brother played drums in a high school band with George Thorogood. He should've gone to LA with him...but I digress...this is supposed to be about Me!!! I don't have a similar story, but after cutting my teeth on piano, trumpet, and guitar (my father was a jazz pianist and insisted that us kids take piano lessons) in various high school bands, I truly found my own as a bass player, and often the lead vocalist in a 4 piece rock n' roll cover band, from 1963 to 1969, called "The Four Trends". We were the band to be had for many, many frat parties at the University of Delaware during that era. The University itself hired us on many occasions for student center dances. We were the summer house band at a popular teen dance hall in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where I met the love of my life. And we are still together! Now, after a 33 year career as an airline pilot, I find myself back at it again - this time as a "Bandit"! I have been with these guys for about 10 years now, and it just keeps getting better and better! |
